Alain Rossignol brings 25 years of experience in the energy industry to Kouros. He led several M&A projects in oil & gas exploration & production, in Africa, the Caspian Sea, South-East Asia, Australia and Europe (including integrated Production-to-LNG projects).
Alain held several top management positions in natural gas storage and E&P in Central Europe. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Nafta in Slovakia and as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MND in the Czech Republic. He conducted the major reorganization of Nafta, including staff restructuring, operational and financial optimization of the business structure.
For Gaz de France, for GDF SUEZ, Alain led negotiations on long-term contracts for the supply of natural gas and implemented a new business of natural gas origination in emerging markets. He developed commercial partnerships in Eastern and Central Europe including the creation of JVs with GAZPROM.
Alain has both an engineering and economic background; he graduated from IFP (French Petroleum Institute) in Economics and Corporate Management after having studied Mechanical Engineering at ENSEM in Nancy (France) and at Bath University (England). Alain speaks French, English, Russian and Slovak.
Joost Mees has been holding a position of managing director of Kouros SA in Luxembourg since October 2016.
He currently holds various independent board positions in unregulated Luxembourg entities. In April 2013 he founded, with three other partners, Exequtive Partners S.A., a boutique corporate services firm which combines experience and sophistication of a large firm with a personalized approach.
Previousely, in 2007, he moved to Luxembourg and worked in several roles within TMF Luxembourg, amongst others, head of business development for the Benelux region.
Joost started His career in the financial services industry in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles in a legal and commercial role with ABN Amro Trust in September 2003.
Joost has a Masters degree in Dutch Corporate Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Head of Investments
Florent Bergeret brings 17 years of energy industry experience to Kouros. He launched and developed smart energy products and services for Engie’s B2C market.
Florent founded Homni, an Engie’s spin-off dedicated to home energy intelligence, which received two awards at CES 2016 in the ‘smart home’ and ‘tech for a better world’ categories.
Previously, Florent worked for 10 years in the development of natural gas-fired power plants in France and Europe, as Head of valuation models, Head of power operations and Project Director for new gas-fired power stations. He was also Project Director for the construction of a 220 MW open-cycle power station (€130M).
Florent holds an engineering degree from ENSTA Paris Tech and a Masters Degree in energy economics from IFP (French Petroleum Institute). He speaks French and English.
Romeo Meyer brings 12 years of experience in the energy sector to Kouros. He spent most of his career in an international and multicultural context.
Within Gaz de France Supply and Trade Division, Romeo was responsible for natural gas logistics and portfolio optimization. For GDF SUEZ, he served as a negotiator of long-term natural gas contracts with GAZPROM and led natural gas and LNG origination activities.
As Lead Key Account Manager for ENGIE, he was responsible for energy sales and business development for a large portfolio of industrial customers, and developed innovative solutions for his clients to sustain their energy transition.
Romeo received two Masters of Engineering from the French Ecole Centrale de Nantes and from the Swedish Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH) in Stockholm. He speaks French, English, German, Swedish and Russian.
